Spoken word poet, storyteller, and visual artist Kevin Wesaquate will lead this workshop exploring the implementation of an Indigenous food source – misaskwatomina (Saskatoon berry shrub) – within an urban environment. Teachings on the importance of these plants to the Indigenous community will be offered, and Kevin will show participants how to assert themselves through the use of spoken word poetry. Kevin will be accompanied by emerging spoken word poet Alex Allery, aka Loud Voice.

Free and all ages! Everyone is welcome to attend!

This workshop is part of our Locals Only Summer Launch, taking place throughout the day on May 5th.
